On July 7, Luup announced that it will start offering its electric kick scooter and electric assist bicycle sharing service “LUUP” in Sapporo, Hokkaido on July 31. This season, it will be open until November 16, and will be closed during snowfall.
Initially, about 150 vehicles (50 electric kick scooters and 100 electric assist bicycles) will be placed at about 50 ports. The basic fee will be 50 yen plus an hourly fee of 15 yen per minute, the same as in Kyoto, Yokohama, Nagoya, etc.
On the service launch day, a safety seminar and test ride will be held. From July 31 to August 9, a “free ride campaign” will be held in Sapporo, where passengers can ride for free for 30 minutes as many times as they like.
The company says that by expanding its operations in Sapporo, it will help solve problems such as chronic congestion and a lack of transportation for the last mile between subway stations and destinations.
LUUP is currently deployed at more than 14,200 ports nationwide.

If you come to Sapporo, please try using LUUP. It’s a compact city, so it’s easy to use. And we’ll wait for you from your hotel to Sapporo Incall 😁 The return trip is refreshing in many ways 🤣
