AOAO SAPPORO, an urban aquarium in Sapporo, is hosting the “Dinosaurs and the Sea” exhibition.

This special exhibition, themed “Experience the history of life from ancient times to the present,” features four exhibits, led by photographer Naoki Ishikawa, known for his global travels and for climbing all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks last year. Through exhibits on dinosaurs, whale fossils, the formation of the Earth, and our aquarium friends living today, the exhibition explores the magnificent story of life. The exhibition will run from Thursday, October 9, 2025, to Wednesday, January 21, 2026, closing at 3:00 PM on the final day. The four exhibits are as follows [Note 1].

First, there is “The Perfect Dinosaurs 2025,” presented by AOAO SAPPORO and Mukawa Town’s Hobetsu Museum. Second, “The Sapporo Whale” by AOAO SAPPORO and the Sapporo City Museum Activity Center. Third, “The Plate Tectonics” by AOAO SAPPORO and Naoki Ishikawa. Fourth, “The Penguin Story.” This is a great event where you can learn about dinosaurs, whales, plate tectonics, and penguins.
